As a very young child I used to infuse elements of humor into drawings for friends (usually at an attempt to get a laugh).  This really hasn’t changed over the years for my “daily art”, but detailed projects were always somber in nature (portraits, landscapes, etc.) and were either used for school projects or as gifts for close family and friends.  The more detailed work was always (and still is) a very intimate experience of creation, and reserved for those I hold closely or deeply respect.

     As a Navy Pilot, my art was “volunteered” for more cartoony work in the form of squadron patches, logos, t-shirts and plaques.  This was fun, but it never really scratched the itch or told a story.

     After deploying more and flying as a Test Pilot, as well as also becoming a father, my desire to use fine art techniques to convey ineffable-thoughts/feelings grew stronger.  The work here is the culmination of those experiences.
